Our good friends over at Hidden Hitch, a part of the Cequent Manufacturing Family, has just released a brand new  Class III Trailer Hitch for the 2011 Ford Explorer.  Another of their high quality yet affordable towing parts, this puppy is made to fit into a 2” Hitch Receiver. These Class III Hitches are able to be mounted in about 45 minutes - with NO drilling required. This model includes the hitch and all of the installation hardware. Installation is going to take some minor repositioning of the exhaust.

The hitch boasts a gross towing weight of 4,000 pounds, having a tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds. You will need to supply your own electrical, hitch ball, mount, clip, & pin. You might want to give some serious thought to adding a custom look hitch cover that will help protect the inside of the receiver any time you’re not towing anything at all.

This Class III Hitch will be able to support almost all standard weight towing requirements - which can include pulling your ski boat or camping trailers. You could also easily pull your motorcycle, snowmobile, jet-ski, 4 wheeler, light watercraft, pop-up camper, or even a U-Haul trailer! In addition, they work well for small business applications, such as hauling yard work gear and tools.
